Testimonials - Domestic Clients

Domestic clients who rated Judith's service level at 5 on a scale of 1-5 did so because:

  • I couldn't have done it without Judith
  • The atmosphere was supportive and not in the least bit controlling
  • The tips and ideas Judith provided as we worked were very helpful
  • I don't feel as guilty as I did before
  • Judith has a commonsense approach and her way of working helped me get motivated

Below is just a sample of testimonials received from domestic clients - some clients don't submit a testimonial – they're too busy decluttering!

Before

Since retiring the depression I suffered from got worse and meant I couldn't be bothered to tidy up – unless it was in a rush for 'effect', usually because someone was coming round.  I was always procrastinating and put off inviting people.  It was all too much and I needed a plan.

After

After the Skype session with Judith I went from feeling fed up and despairing to feeling hopeful.  I did more work on my own and then had a half-day practical session with her because I didn't think I was making enough progress.  I knew if I didn't tackle it properly my frustration and depression would get worse.  I now feel more positive and know I can clear it.  Having Judith help me at home has spurred me on and made me feel accountable. I know I need to do it – not that I ought to do it!  Judith was unbiased, non-judgemental and really encouraged me.  Rather than just telling me what to do she knuckled down and got on with it.  We worked well together. On the whole I have a more positive attitude to tidying and sorting out and even feel a little bit excited about it."

Before

I need to make space in my wardrobe to store my partner's clothes – he's moving in this week.  I have far too many clothes and know that some have to go.  I also want to clear excess clothing from my spare room so it can accommodate a bed.  At this stage, I really don't want to get rid of anything.

After

I feel exhilarated.  I can do this and just want to get on and do some more.  It might be a bit painful, but it is possible.  I know I'll save lots of time that I used to spend hunting for things - so irritating.  Since my session with Judith I've sorted out all my food cupboards, and moved furniture round to make more space.  The spare bedroom now has its bed and was very useful at Christmas.  I'm continuing to use Judith's methods.

Before

My son, and especially my husband 'dump' things in the kitchen and breakfast room and I feel it is always quite chaotic.  The kitchen is a galley room with little storage.  I know the breakfast room has potential but don't know what to do for the best. I feel as though I want to push back the walls.  I'm always kept busy with 'maintenance' just trying to keep on top of it all.  It feels like a vortex that sucks out my energy.

After

The session has left me feeling energised and empowered.  I feel there has been a big shift. For instance I will be taking quite a lot of things to the school car boot sale on Sunday. It was great to find a solution for the breakfast room.  Finding and buying the dresser with shelves for my son's school work and a cupboard for my husband's untidy papers has really helped.  Strangely I hadn't realised that the main problem in this area was the fact that I was always looking at a muddled heap of paperwork that wasn't mine to sort.  The other piece of furniture just didn't work as well.

I feel more in control and my husband's muddle is more under control.  I've moved on from feeling like a rabbit in the headlights.  Subtle changes we made are already feeling like huge benefits for my headspace. I now have more room in my head for my creative work.

Before

I want my living room to be somewhere I can relax at the end of a stressful day.  I also want to be able to have friends round and cook for them.  This is currently not possible.  I want my flat to feel more like a home. Having moved in a year ago, very little has changed – there are still a lot of boxes that haven't been unpacked.  I know the situation makes me feel wound up and drained of energy.  I feel guilty about not getting things sorted out myself.

After

It feels great to have started the process – I'm not so scared now!  The large pile of empty boxes proves there is now a lot less in the room than there was when we started!

Working with you has shown that this is so much easier when broken down into stages.  The job seemed overwhelming, but it turned out that I had a lot of large boxes and some of them were only partly full.

I now have a clear course of action.  The living room can be tidied sufficiently for me to ask my friends round to help assemble the wardrobe.  This will give me more space in the living room, as this is where the flat pack parts have been stored.  I can then put away all my clothes, leaving the sofa in my room clear– so I can then sell it!  It will also mean I can clear the clothes from the spare room.  I may even be able to accommodate a small dining table!  I will also be able to tackle sorting out the kitchen, using the techniques I have learned.

I've had friends over for dinner and a friend stay for the weekend. I've started decorating the bedroom. In general I feel more in control, even though there is a lot to do still.  It doesn't scare me now. I know that in time, things are getting done and I can now come home and feel quite relaxed and don't feel so ashamed any more.

Thank you so much for helping me start the process and work towards having a tidier home.
